Just another quiet afternoon {Tag: Ukitake}

Under a tree in the forested areas of the Rukongai, the new captain fo the fourth divison Karei Airen sits watching the sky. She'd decided to slip away from her paperwork to get some fresh air and peace on this oddly quiet day.
"It sure is quiet, oh well, might as well enjoy the peace while I can."
She lays back against the bark of the tree behind her and closes her eyes, listening to the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves above her.

Ukitake was out of his estate taking a walk around the Forested section. He always peace in forest area. It was good for him. When he was there he didn't even feel his sickness. There was something about it that just helped him. Ukitake then he hears someone say something. " Hmm whos that? " Ukitake mumbles to himself. He follows where he heard the voice. He see's Karei sitting under a tree. It was just the new captain for squad 4. "Hello. " Ukitake says to her with a smile on his face.

Karei's brown eyes open and she look sup, grinning softly as she saw Ukitake standing there. Shifting her weight she stands up and smiles at him.
"Hello, if I'm not mistaken you must be Captain Ukitake. I've heard about you, it's a pleasure to meet you."
She brushes back a peice of her hsort red hair out of her face as the wind blows it towards her eyes.

Ukitake smiles then calms his face again. " Your , not mistaken and its a pleasure to meet you too " Ukitake let out a slight bow. Despite being the same rank he still should show respect. " And if im not mistaken your the new captain of squad 4 , Karei? Ukitake asked as he rose up from his bowing.

She smiles and bows slightly back to him, she too was respectful especially when it came to people she'd just met.
"You would also be correct. What bring you out here on a peaceful day like today if I may ask you?"
Straightening back up, she smiles at him, wanting to make a good first impression of the first fellow captain she'd ever met.

Ukitake moved one of the hair strands from his face. " This place is just so peaceful , compared to the rest of the Seiretei its a great place in the city don't get me wrong but there's just something about this place that always draws me back its like its completly cut off from the rest of the world , and if you do not mind why are you out here? Ukitake asked her. A cool breeze then began to come throughout the forest.

"Basically for the same reason you are. I desperately needed a break from paperwork so I came out here. You're right, this place just seems so secluded and peaceful, I love coming here when I need to think things out or just get away from it all."
Turning on her heels, she sits on a tree root sticking out of the ground and watches the hills about five miles away from them.

Ukitake gently laughs " There will be alot more paper work to come " He of course was joking around but it was true too. There was alot of paperwork. Ukitake puts a smile on his face. It seemed like when he was here he was never sick. Was it the place , the air or something else? Ukitake wondered. He looks out towards where Karei is looking to at the mountains.

She groans softly and hangs her head.
"Don't tell me that, the last thing I need to hear is that. I hate paperwork, I get terrible writers cramp. I thought being a captain would involve more action, not just sitting behind a desk and signin stuff, but oh well. Thus is out plot in life I suppose."

" Mabey it is , but i beilieve that paperwork is not ones purpse in life." Ukitake says to Karei. The wind began to pick-up. His hair begins to fly around him towards his right shoulder. As Ukitake looked out at the mountains he began to wonder why he never visited them in his life.

( short i know )

Placing her right hand on the side of her head to keep her hair from blowing around wildly, she nods.
"You're right, but I sometimes wish times were more like right now. Were things are at peace and everything is in harmony. But, I guess that's not gonna happen any time soon."

" I dont beilive that , chaos is just the beggining of Harmony , it will come , and then our job will be to preserve it like we do for this forest. " Ukitake said. The wind began to calm down and Ukitakes hair came back down towards his back. His attention went from the mountains towards Karei.

"That will be nice, in truth I hate fighting. But I do it for one cause and one alone."
She looks towards the ground and her grip tightens on the bark of the root she's sitting on. Even though she feel Ukitake looking at her, she doesn't return his gaze for being too lost in her own memories of her much more tragic past.

" I don't like to fight either , I will only kill to preserve life , fighting only fuels the chaos that flame is one we must extinguish. " Ukitake says. He did mean everything he was saying. It was nice to meet someone who from what he has seen so far shares in his ideals. Ukitake got a slight smile on his face at that this would be one of the first times. Most of the shinigami he ever met were like Kenpachi Zaraki loving the chaos or Byakuya Kuchiki not caring on way or another about it. But then there were the exceptions Kaien Shiba and now her.

"I agree, all I want is for people to see that with a little work and effort all beings can become allies and even friends. Breeding Figthing with Hatred only results in chaos, and I hate seeing those I care about being lost, I've seen it one too many times."
Brushing her bangs back out of her face, you could just barely see a slightly pained look on her face.

" Im sorry if you wish to change the subject , im fine with that. " Ukitake said noticing the look on here face. He was good at reading peoples and he could tell this was hurting her. He knew many people have lost friends and family to hollows or otherthing he lost a few good friends himself like Kaien to hollows or Urahara and the others to the hyokuyoku.

"Thank you, it just pain me to think about that kind of stuff. It makes me think of...Siya..."
Her head hangs down a bit more, her face being partly covered by her bangs. She didn't want him to see her like this, she thought it looked unprofesional.

" So what do you want to talk about? " Ukitake asked her with a smile on his face. He was willing to change the conversation. He wanted to try to make her feel better , he didnt like it when people felt bad.


( This one is short couldnt think of much )

"Well, why not just see what happens? Let's just talk about ourselves for a bit, get to know one another. I think we'd be pretty good friends don't you?"
She look sup at him and smiles, the pain gone from her face. But in the back of her mind she hoped that she'd be able to keep this friend and not loose him like she did Siya so long ago.
(It's ok, I post short posts too when I can't think of anything.)

" Yes I do think so , if you don't mind you go first. " Ukitake smiles at her. He was happier she seemed to be feeling alittle bit better. He was also happy due to him possibly getting a new friend. It was a good day so far.

"Well I suppose I should start with what I do in my spare time. I suppose I just like to do relaxing things, like reading, going for walks, at night sometimes I tend to star gaze for hours and fall asleep under the night sky. And if it isn't too much, could you sit, looking up at you is starting to make my neck hurt a bit."
She scratcthes the back of her head, hoping she didn't just offend him.

Ukitakes nods his head. He moves his Haori out from under him that way he would not sit on it. Its no problem at all , and that sounds actually fun to do. " Ukitake was posistioned directly infront of her with a few feet inbetween them. Esspecially the star part at night that sounds enjoyable. "

"It is, it looks like the stars are going ot come out soon anyway, you want to head over to those hills and watch?"
She points to the hill five miles away, smiling softly at him.

Ukitake looks out towards the mountains he then notices the setting sun, Lets go , I have never been out there for some reason , it sounds nice " Ukitake said as he rose back up from the ground. He looked out there then back at her. He held out his hand to help her up from the ground.

She takes his hand and stands up.
"Thank you Ukitake."
She begins walking toward the hills, she had full knoledge she could shunpo there in a matter for seconds, but she felt like walking since it was much more calming and gave her a chance to talk to him while they walked.
